What the AGPL-3.0 means for Clausery, in plain English:
1. You MAY use, copy, modify and redistribute the code, for free or
commercially, AS LONG AS you keep this license and copyright in place
and distribute your modified source under AGPL-3.0 too.
2. The "network" clause (section 13): if you run a MODIFIED version of
Clausery and let other people interact with it over a network (for
example as a SaaS, an intranet tool, or a hosted service), you MUST
make your complete corresponding source code available to those users,
under AGPL-3.0, at no charge, from the same service. That means a
competitor cannot simply fork Clausery, rebrand it and sell it as a
hosted service without releasing their improvements back to the
community.
3. This license covers the CODE (templates, engine, UI, build scripts
and documentation). It does NOT grant any right to use the Clausery
trade name, logos, app icons, marketing copy, Product Hunt launch
materials, Pinterest pins, short ads, or other brand assets — those
are reserved and licensed separately. See TRADEMARKS.md.
4. If you want to use Clausery in a way that is NOT compatible with
AGPL-3.0 — for example white-labeling it inside a closed product,
embedding it in proprietary software, or removing the visible
attribution lines on hosted deployments — contact
getclausery@gmail.com to arrange a commercial license.
The word templates shipped in samples/ are public-domain-style reference
documents written for this project; they are covered by the same
AGPL-3.0 but individual clauses are factual language and not
copyrightable as original expression.
