Questions

What should a job description include?

The title, where and how the person will work, who they report to, a short summary of the role, the main responsibilities, the requirements, the pay range where you can share it, the benefits and how to apply.

Do I have to include the pay range?

In a growing number of places, yes. Several US states and cities, including California, Colorado, Washington, New York and Illinois, require pay ranges in job postings for many employers.

How long should a job description be?

Long enough to answer a candidate's first questions and short enough to read on a phone: usually 5 to 8 responsibilities and requirements each. Separate must-haves from nice-to-haves so good candidates are not put off.

Is it really free?

Yes. The download is free, and filling it in with the Clausery app is free too, with unlimited documents. Library templates never count towards a plan limit, and no account or card is needed.

Is my information uploaded anywhere?

No. Clausery runs entirely in your browser. Your answers and the finished document are created and stored on your own device.

Is this legal advice?

No. These are general samples. Laws differ between countries and states, so have the wording reviewed for your situation before you rely on it.
