Questions

Is a quote legally binding?

A quote is an offer. Once the customer accepts it, for example by signing it, it usually becomes a contract at the quoted price for the work described. That is why the template lists what is not included and gives a date the quote expires.

What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?

A quote is a fixed price for defined work. An estimate is an informed guess that can change as the work goes on. If you cannot fix the price, call the document an estimate and say how you will tell the customer about changes.

How long should a quote be valid?

Long enough for the customer to decide and short enough that your costs will not change: 14 or 30 days is common, and less when material prices move quickly.

Is it really free?

Yes. The download is free, and filling it in with the Clausery app is free too, with unlimited documents. Library templates never count towards a plan limit, and no account or card is needed.

Is my information uploaded anywhere?

No. Clausery runs entirely in your browser. Your answers and the finished document are created and stored on your own device.

Is this legal advice?

No. These are general samples. Laws differ between countries and states, so have the wording reviewed for your situation before you rely on it.
