VIDEO PRODUCTION AGREEMENT

This Video Production Agreement is made on [Effective date] between [Producer name] (the "Producer") and [Client name] (the "Client").

1. Project

The Producer will produce [Project description], delivering the following videos:

2. Schedule

Pre-production begins on [Start date] and filming takes place on [Shoot date]. The Producer will deliver a first cut within [First cut days] days of filming and the final videos by [Delivery date].

3. Revisions

The fee includes [Revision rounds] rounds of edits to the first cut. Further edits are charged at [Hourly rate] per hour.

4. Fees and expenses

The total fee is [Total fee]. A deposit of [Deposit amount] is due on signing to secure the dates. Invoices are payable within [Payment days] days.

Travel, equipment hire, location fees and talent are charged at cost with receipts. Any single expense over [Expense limit] needs the Client's approval first.

5. Music, people and locations

The Producer will use properly licensed music and obtain releases from anyone it casts. The Client is responsible for permissions for its own premises, staff and materials shown in the videos.

6. Ownership

On payment in full, the Client owns the final edited videos. The Producer will also deliver the raw footage.The Producer keeps the raw footage for [Footage retention months] months and can supply it for an additional fee.

The Producer may show the finished videos in its portfolio once the Client has published them.

7. Cancellation

If the Client cancels less than [Cancellation days] days before filming, the deposit is not refunded and the Client pays any costs already committed.

8. Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of [Governing law].

Who owns the raw footage?

In this template the client owns the final edited videos once paid, and you choose whether raw footage is included or kept by the producer for a set period and available for a fee.

How do I handle expenses?

Switch on the expenses clause to charge travel, equipment hire, locations and talent at cost with receipts, with client approval needed above a limit you set.

Is it really free?
